Popular Destinations For South America Travel

Posted in Travel  by AnnaStenning on June 29th, 2009

The decision to go on a trip to a nation like Argentina or Brazil is one that few take lightly - mainly due to the cost and time required. But South America travel remains extremely popular, and many people will be planning an exciting trip to this diverse area. This article looks at the reasons why someone might take a journey to this part of the world.

In terms of climate and landscape South America travel options mean that whatever a traveller is looking for, this continent is likely to have something to offer. Brazil is a flamboyant, colourful nation, that has attracted visitors for many decades. The warm climate and range of thrilling landscapes mean that people from all walks of life have journeyed here. It is of course famous for the Amazon River, surrounding jungle - and the myriad of animal life that co-exist in under the steamy canopies.

The cities of Brazil too, offer excitement of a kind not found anywhere else. Rio has a real buzz about it with its carnivals and delicious local food. Music and dance are found here, as it is in Sao Paulo - making Brazil one of the top destinations for those thinking about South America travel.

Argentina is a location of such popularity that for some, no trip to this continent is complete without a visit here. With a population of over 40 million people, there are a great many towns and cities to visit in this large nation. Buenes Aires is obviously one of the main hot spots for visitors, where a great deal of culture, art and architectural heritage are to be found.

Argentina is the second largest nation in South America and the eighth in the world. With this in mind it is unsurprising that there are so many memorable landscapes here - rugged coastlines and imperious mountains among them. Argentina is likely to be on the list of many people considering South America travel.

Famous for the Andes mountain range, Chile is another popular destination for those considering South America travel destinations. With the Pacific Ocean on its western side, Chile occupies a strip of land from the southern tip of South America right up to the border of Brazil. The land is famous for its Incan heritage, as well as the formidable mountains which occupy so much of its bulk. There is a great deal of history to be enjoyed here, which is one of the principal reasons why it remains a top destination for travellers across the globe.

South America travel offers a range of landscapes and cities to explore - and with such a great deal of variety it seems to attract a broad range of peoples of different ages.

Choose a Tuscany Hotel To Visit The Beauty Of Italy

Posted in Destinations  by dominicdonaldson on June 29th, 2009

Tuscany is a part of Italy that is well known for its beauty, wine and artistic legacy, and this region lives up to all of its impressive press. Surrounded by beautiful landscapes, filled with stunning sunflower fields and host to many impressive landmarks Tuscany is a wonderful place to visit. Here in this article we look at some of the best parts of Tuscany to visit and why this region of Italy has been considered one of the most chic and art inspiring places in the world.

If you are a fan of art and the reinessance Italy then Florence is the place to visit within Tuscany. This beautiful looking city is the regional capital of Tuscany. Those that visit this city should travel from the south; the road from Siena leads you from the heights of the southern bank of the Arno. Florence will appear from the trees magically, revealing the Giotto’s Campanile, Brunelleschi’s Dome and the Basilica Di Santa Croce. This beautiful view is so impressive it is easy to see with this alone why people want to visit Tuscany. This stylish and beautiful city is the perfect place for a wonderful trip away to a Tuscany hotel and offers elegant history to those who want to see the sites.

Another famous place to visit in the region of Tuscany is Pisa, once in competition as a maritime power to Genoa and Venice this beautiful place now draws its visitors in with an architectural project that went wrong. The Tower of Pisa was built to show the rest of the world the wealth of the city, but the tower began to sink whilst the third floor was being constructed in 1178. Pisa has many historical places to visit including museums with artwork from some of the greats, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Donatello.

Southern Tuscany is arguably one of the most breathtaking areas of Tuscany; visitors can embrace the rural life as the land is full of sloping hills covered in sunflowers and wavy trees. For those that want to stay in a Tuscany hotel this rural part has historic farmhouses that can be rented for weeks in the year. However if the thought of a Tuscany hotel is far better to some, Italian hospitality does not disappoint. Why not spend a few days exploring the hills and the hot bubbly rock pools of Saturnia or if you like beaches then laze on the hot beaches in Monte Argentario.

Have You Ever Seen The English Holiday Cottages For Rental

Posted in Travel  by papatocs on June 29th, 2009

If you want a holiday with a difference, then why not think about a cottage holiday in the UK. You can find a cottage to rent in some of the nicest areas of Britain. If it’s the seaside that you like then why not rent a cottage in Cornwall or Devon.

Some holiday cottages are very pretty and can be quite old. It’s not unusual to find a three hundred year old cottage in Cornwall that has been renovated and has all the modern conveniences that you could wish for.

Most cottages that are advertised for rent sleep four to six people and are self catering. Renting a cottage is often preferable to a hotel holiday because you can please yourself to your own meal times and when you get up etc. Most people who take holidays in cottages or log cabins, do so because they like the freedom that a self catering holiday offers them and it often means that they are in a quiet place in the middle of beautiful countryside.

If you prefer greenery and perhaps the odd mountain or both, then a holiday cottage in the Lake District or in Wales or Scotland might be your idea of heaven. Some cottages are in isolated areas while others may be situated in towns or villages. The Lake District has some beautiful period cottages and the scenery in that part of the world is wonderful.

If you rent a cottage in a village called Hawkeshead in the Lake District then you can visit the building where William Wordsworth went to school and see the poet’s initials scratched on a desk. If you loved the Beatrix Potter books as a child then you can visit the house where she spent time writing and see some of the early drafts of books and drawing.

The holiday property rental market in the UK has seen a bit of an upsurge in the last eighteen months as more people decide to holiday at home rather than travel abroad. Places like Devon and Cornwall have always been popular and can be lovely in the summer, as with many English towns there are historical sites, museums and stately homes that you can visit while you are on vacation.

In Wales there have been problems for the holiday cottage rental market because many Welsh people complain, quite rightly, about absent landlords, nevertheless there are still some great places to rent. If you go to the South West of Wales in Pembrokeshire, not only will you find holiday cottages to rent in beautiful countryside, you are only a few miles from the beautiful coastline as well.

If you do decide to rent a holiday cottage then make sure that you take some sleeping bags as these are handy if it turns really cold in the evening and there are not enough quilts and blankets in the cottage. When you go to stay in a holiday cottage it’s always a good idea to take at least the basic foods with you as it may not be close to any shops, especially if it’s in a secluded area.

While there is a fair amount of holiday rental property in the UK if you want to get the type of cottage that you want then it’s a good idea to book early, especially if you plan on going to Cornwall or the Lake District as both places are extremely popular in the summer months.

Family Vacation as a Time to Bond

Posted in Travel  by Urmann3 on June 29th, 2009

Family vacations are a nice way to spend time with the whole family. Today, we get so busy with our jobs, and the kids with their studies that we hardly see each other any more. Scheduling a family trip, may it be going to the beach, hiking through the mountains, visiting historical sites, going to theme parks and exploring and camping out on the wilderness is a fun and nice way to bring the family close again.

There are several ways to enjoy your family vacation. Just remember to make sure that there is something for each member of the family to do. Always plan in advance. Choose a location where everyone will enjoy. Double check the car if you will go on a long drive to have a safe trip.

Planning Your Trip
It is always best to plan your trip in advance. Going to your local travel agency and talking to the travel agent is a good move. Ask the members of your family where they want to go. Take time to consider all of their suggestions. Discuss it with the whole family to make sure that what you are planning can proceed as smoothly as possible.

Keep always in mind your budget. You do not have to spend way over your budget. After all, spending time together with the family is more important. Check the individual schedules and compromise on a date and time where everyone is amenable.

Exploring the Great outdoors
Due to the abundance of technology on our lives today, some people now want to experience the great outdoors to break free from urban living for a while. Exploring the great outdoors is a nice alternative away from the technology that is cluttering our lives.

Planning a camping trip with your family can be a fun adventure. Hiking or trekking is a very nice way to experience nature. The family may also want to visit the zoo, gardens, and nature attractions like volcanoes, crocodile farms or plantations. A trip to an aviary is another option.

Visiting Theme Parks
Theme parks are like a small community full of exciting activities inside. For a certain amount of entrance fee, you could enjoy everything that the theme park offers inside. There are thrilling rides for all ages, game booths, food stalls, and some souvenir shops.

It normally takes a whole day to explore the whole park. The whole family will surely have fun. The most popular theme park is Disneyland, but there is a long list of other theme parks around you can try visiting also.

Historical Tour and Educational Trips
Another suggestion for a family vacation is to go on a historical tour. It will be both a good bonding moment and educational trip. Both parents and children will learn something. It will be a good opportunity also to expose the children to these sites so they could learn to be appreciative at an early age.

The family could visit temples and churches. They could also see magnificent historical structures like forts and walls. The Great Wall of China is fascinating. But if the family is just looking for local trips, they could check around their area for many other educational sites. There are many museums and exhibits they could explore that showcase the beauty of their land. Some hold precious artifacts that tell stories of their ancestors.

It will also be a good and fun learning experience inside science centers or dinosaur museums.

Plan a family vacation according to the interests of the members. There are so many options around. You can read about the different places you intend to go to, to give you an overview.
