Why Haven t You Booked Your Flight to Amsterdam?

Posted in Destinations  by amayco on July 30th, 2009

This Dutch city thrives on tourism, and people are flocking there from all over the world.. And if they enjoyed it the first time, they keep coming back for more!

This booming metropolis is a seaport city, that always offers cheap flights, for vacationers, stag parties, and entrepreneurs who hold their business meetings en route, and then celebrate their deals with their clients on a wild night out before returning home.

There is plenty to do in Amsterdam for everyone. The Dutch food is delicious, exploring the historic district with its old architecture and its famous crooked houses, the famous Anne Frank house, three major museums; you can easily walk it, rent a bike or take a bus or taxi. Be aware that traffic is wild, and that cars, not pedestrians have the right of way!

There are many wonderful day trips available to other areas of the Netherlands, so why not stay a bit longer. You can rent a holiday apartment, which will give you a peaceful place to rest and relax after you have spent a hectic night out on the town, have a quiet meal and plan a sightseeing day for the family. If you are there during tulip season, the Keuklenhof Gardens are a must see!

Amsterdam has a mild, humid climate, but the weather goes to extremes winter or summer. Spring through fall are the best and busiest times to be there, so book your flights as soon as you can, and plan for your accommodations. Hotels are crowded in high season, so be sure to check out apartment rentals as well.

A number of inexpensive continental and international carriers service Amsterdam. There are many cheap flights from London and other UK cities, as well as most of the major cities of Europe and the United States. Check out the special deals online, remembering that the most expensive time to go to Amsterdam is during tulip season, which is from April to the middle of May.

But don t be afraid to visit this amazing city during off season. There are many cultural events held from September through June, and plenty of things to do. You will love the cheap flights offered at these times. Rentals will be cheaper and more easily available, and restaurants and traffic will be less harried. Do you like to skate? The canals freeze in winter, and you can skate your way around the city with the locals.

Getting around the Netherlands is easy to do. Rent a bike and enjoy the excellent bike lanes and racks for parking them all over the city, or a car (do it in the city, it is cheaper there) and experience the efficient highway system. Trains and buses are also reasonable and convenient.

When you are checking out hotels and rental apartments, don t be fooled by the bed and breakfast ads. The usually do not serve breakfast and are really holiday apartments. So there it is a beautiful, exciting, and daring city, with so much to offer, plenty of bargain prices, and all kinds of cheap flights. What are you waiting for?

Spring is the right season to take flights to Amsterdam during tulip season. Come and enjoy your stay renting the best Amsterdam accommodation, Apartments Amsterdam, Amsterdam rental

Why You Need Holiday Home Insurance

Posted in Travel  by AnnaStenning on July 30th, 2009

When buying or mortgaging a home abroad, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement and forget all about one of the most important aspects of the process - holiday home insurance.

Having holiday home insurance is just as important as insuring your regular abode, but in a different way. Some people may think they don’t need it as they aren’t there for much of the year, but in fact this is exactly why your holiday home should be insured, whichever country it happens to be in.

A lot of things can happen to an empty house, be they deliberate or accidental and if your holiday home isn’t covered, you will not be able to claim any compensation, making you financially liable for any repairs or replacements. Empty homes are prime targets for vandals or thieves, and repairing the damage caused by them can often run be a very financially expensive - not to mention emotionally upsetting - process. A good holiday home insurance policy will cover your property against both this, and also less deliberate issues such as a burst water pipe or similar accidental damage, which can cause just as much upheaval as any attack by thieves or vandals.

Although an insured property is just as susceptible to these occurrences as an uninsured one, having a policy to cover your holiday home can at least provide the peace of mind that if something unpleasant happens to your property while you’re at home, you shouldn’t be financially liable for it. This peace of mind is one of the main reasons people take out home and contents insurance on their main dwelling and a home which lies empty for much of the year can be a source of worry as you simply don’t know what’s happening to your property. Though insurance for your holiday home won’t completely eliminate this fear, at least it remedies the worry that if the worst does happen, you will be covered.

Though acquiring insurance is often one of the procedures placed towards the bottom of the list of priorities when purchasing a holiday home, it should never be overlooked. Often available for far less than you may be expecting, with a range of policies to suit your requirements, holiday home insurance is something which should always be considered when purchasing or mortgaging a property abroad. With companies offering excellent rates and online service, it is easy for people to find a suitable policy for their property, whichever country or even continent they choose to vacation in.

Atlanta Luxury Hotels, My top Picks

Posted in Destinations  by Kaito78 on July 30th, 2009

What is Atlanta ? Atlanta, remembered in recent history as the host of the 1996 Olympics, is a fast growing city with a cosmopolitan element , yet still maintains its historic character.

Atlanta is situated on the south east coast of the United States and is known as one of the cleanest and greenest cities of the united states.

In terms of American cities Atlanta is a relatively young city, but that’s not to say it doesn’t have it’s fair share of History.

When it comes to Atlanta luxury accommodation the city will not disappoint.

The Ritz carlton downtown is one of Atlanta’s most luxurious hotels, and I believe one of if not the first Atlanta luxury hotels. The Ritz carlton downtown is located as the name suggests downtown close to the heart of the action.

The hotel has undergone extensive renovations over recent years and comprises of over four hundred elegant guest rooms, restaurants, ball rooms, meeting rooms and all the features you would expect from a luxury hotel.

The Ritz carlton Buckhead is another on the list of Atlanta luxury hotels, located approximately four miles from the town centre in one of the cities most celebrated neighborhoods.

The Ritz carlton Buckhead comprises of over five hundred guest rooms and suites, five star restaurant and all the luxuries you expect from a hotel in its class.

The St. Regis Atlanta located just out of town is another Atlanta luxury hotel that shouldn’t be overlooked.

One of the favorite destinations within the hotel is the pool piazza. Guests can relax in the pool or jacuzzi, play billiards have a drink at the poolside bar or just sit back and relax in the tropical surroundings.

The Mansion on Peachtree is the last of the Atlanta luxury hotels I want to mention in this article.

The Mansion of Peachtree is also located in the affluent Buckhead neighborhood offering just over one hundred and twenty rooms and residences. The smaller room numbers creates a more intimate atmosphere with all the perks of a luxury hotel.

The Hotels mentioned in this article are just some of the Atlanta luxury hotels you will find. I researched and read endless reviews on several hotels in Atlanta to bring you this short list of Atlanta luxury hotels.

When choosing your hotel you will need to do your own research as there are many factors to consider when booking accommodation which will vary from one individual to another.

My Best Hotel Experience Around The World

Posted in Destinations  by anutt1 on July 30th, 2009

Traveling can be both an eye opener as well as a fun experience. In all my sojourns, I have had my share of the good, the not-so-good and the downright ugly. I have also had the wonderful experience of being in some of the best hotels in the world. By best, I do not mean in terms of cost and luxury. I mean in terms of customized personal service. A lot of hotels have staffs that are not only informal -which is good- but also impersonal and indifferent to whatever concerns you may have.

While I have had some pretty awesome experiences in hotels, my best so far was in The Stanford. Located in western Canada, it has one of the best combinations of food, customer services, and rooms available. The staffs were a wonderful set of people who were willing to do nearly anything to make their customers comfortable. Not only would they help you out with what they are normally paid to do, they are also willing to go above and beyond just to make sure your stay is satisfying. I remember once when I really needed some hot, drinking water in the middle of the night. The hotel manager himself came down from his room which he had retired to less than 2 hrs before after a hectic to get me the water. That single act alone made me vow to never go anywhere else each time I was in the vicinity.

The people were also very friendly and accommodating. During all the period I stayed there, I never witnessed a showdown or a shouting match between the manager and any of the staff. Everyone just seemed to get along fine with each other. Staying there gives you a sense of peace and serenity; not to mention the fact that it makes you feel like you are one with nature.
The rooms are really designed in a way that gives you a feeling of being at home as opposed to most hotels where you get an impersonal, sterile feeling. Because of its location, looking outside the windows is pure pleasure as the views outside is both beautiful and enthralling. The surrounding mountains make for a great view. The personal hygiene is first rate as all the rooms are clean and dusted. I never had any course to sleep on one bed sheet twice. After the night, everything is taken out and dry-cleaned.

The food is great and always served to your taste, so you do not have to worry about that. For those who may prefer the condos, they are situated just 150m away and offer some form of privacy and seclusion. So, if you want to do some writing in a near-silent environment, this would be a great place to do it. Each condo has its own storage facilities, and laundry. Inside the bedroom too, you have a TV. So, it’s basically a self-sufficient place to stay.

You can unwind after a hectic day at the waterside or in the hot tub. And don’t worry about catching anything; they are well taken care of.
